St. Cyprian's Sharpeville

St. Cyprian's still continues to allow its limited and old infrastructure for community events, as we believe that it is the role of the Church in society to be full participants in the development of communities in which it is based. It is rather unfortunate that the church plays this role at a great cost to its infrastructure. In light of these challenges, the St Cyprian's Church Council took a decision to embark upon an infrastructure renewal project ("the/this project") whose ultimate objective is to ensure that the church's infrastructure has the capacity to fully accommodate its growing congregation and community events. In order for the church to implement the Project, the church has embarked upon a fundraising initiative.

Project Details

The project entail the following:

1. Extention of the current main church building, such that it caters for much bigger congregation and other needs of the church and the community events.
2. Building a new smaller facility to function as:

• Sunday school venue
• Meeting rooms for both church and community events.
• Training facility for Aids Counsellors and Home-based Caregivers, who are currently assisting HIV positive members of the local community with amogst others, taking medication, hospital and clinic visits, bathing and other home chores.
• Nursery school for children in the local community.
• Such other activities as the church may decide from time to time.

     3.The total cost, as per our Architect's estimates, is an amount of R1.8 million (exclusive of VAT).

        The plans and the details of our Architects are available upon request.

Fundraising Activities

We have embarked upon a number of fundraising activities, which include but are not limited to, Golf Days, Fundraising Dinners, Choral Music Festivals, Ruffels, Donations from Organisations, etc.
