Living For God And Carrying Our Cross Daily

Carrying Our Cross Daily

Living for God is not meant to be easy, it is not about being 'holier than thou/others', it is not necessarily always convenient, it is not about holding God at ransom with our demands, needs, wants and desires, it is not always full of joy, yea it is full of pains and storms, it is not a straight line between two points, it is not about how much Bible we can quote, how eloquently we can pray, how divinely we can praise and worship, it is not an outward show that hides what is missing inside, it is not about judging others, it is not about being perfect or behaving like we are, no, there is much more to living for God than that.

Living for God is an active, practice of discipline and commitment, an effort that should not be forecasted into the future as if it will remain so guaranteed, without any daily practice on our part. Unless if we practice this way of living everyday of our lives, with every decision we make, words we speak, action we take, we will never experience victory in our lives and bear the fruits of the Spirit. I have realized and learned from my own life and that of others that we can be in the presence of God all day long and still remain unchanged, unrepentant and unspiritual. Why? In my opinion it is because most of us take the journey with God for granted with a blasé attitude, never really wanting to change or align to how God wants us to live but rather being much more comfortable with just the idea of being associated with living for God through being seen as prayerful, knowledgeable of the Bible, participating in praise and worship, being active in church or just going to church but yet there is no real connection to God or a commitment to Him in the heart and spirit. This is a strange phenomenon that is latent in most churches, homes and communities where people who profess God as Lord, yet live much more wicked lives than people who are in the dark about God. Unless we really allow God to touch us and we allow ourselves to be touched, we will never experience what it is to live for and serve the Lord in truth and in spirit.

Mission

We are committed to serve the congregation of this parish through leading by example. We are continually striving to conform to the rules of the diocese of Christ the King and the canons of the Church of the Province of Southern Africa (CPSA).

bible2We will always encourage and welcome new ideas from the members of our congregation as well as stimulate guilds to participate actively in the life of the parish. We hope to revive all lapsed members by actively making them aware that they are part of the St. Cyprian's family.

We will endeavour to keep the St. Cyprian's parish financially viable and in turn help the diocese grow from strength to strength.

Finally, our aim is to keep our congregation informed at all times of our pursuing the word of God.
